And as you might expect there are certain problems that result from children raised without both a mother and a father. According to Children-ourinvestment.org, these include:
90% of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes
80% of rapists with anger problems come from fatherless homes
71% of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes
75% of all adolescent patients in chemical abuse centers come from fatherless homes
85% of all youths in prison come from fatherless homes.

These are ugly statistics — runaways, drug use, crime — clearly, a fatherless environment leads to extremely high percentages of personally destructive, anti-social or criminal behavior. Could it be that fatherless homes — not bias within our schools — is the source of the struggles for black youth? And if one insists on including systemic bias as a factor then that same person must also insist that fatherless homes be included as a factor.

Yet we hear no political speeches addressing the fatherless family crisis within the black community. Democrats want to raise taxes. The American citizens know this. We know they want more regulations on industry. We know these things because they are part of the national Democratic conversation. We know these things because Democrats want us to know them — these things are priorities.

It’s interesting that Democrats don’t discuss the outrageous number of fatherless homes within the black community with the same volume and vigor as taxes or healthcare. It’s interesting that Obama, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and other black leaders with a national voice don’t make speeches about fatherless homes or re-building the family unit within their community as often as they do about suffering social bias and racism. Why isn’t repairing the black family unit a part of the national Democratic conversation?

Obviously, it’s not a priority. If it was, we would know it.

The truth is, it never has been.

Obama’s ‘Initiative On Educational Excellence’ is nothing more than a hollow election year gesture designed to put a happy face on the Left. It won’t solve any problems because it doesn’t address any problems. It’s clear the supreme ruler feels the election slipping away and he thinks a new government office dedicated to black youths is going to help him keep blacks dedicated to him.

The black youth of this country doesn’t need more government agencies, nanny-state policies or education panels — they need fathers.
