It’s official. The Obama administration knew within 24 hours of the Libya consulate attack that it was an organized act of terror.

It turns out, not to the surprise of many of us, that the government intentionally issued the cover story of a “spontaneous attack” to fool the citizens. Or was it to deflect blame? Or hide incompetence? Whatever the reason, the “blame-the-video” narrative has finally unraveled.

FOX is reporting,

U.S. intelligence officials knew within 24 hours of the assault on the U.S. Consulate in Libya that it was a terrorist attack and suspected Al Qaeda-tied elements were involved — though it took the administration a week to acknowledge it.

Two senior U.S. officials said the Obama administration internally labeled the attack terrorism from the first day in order to unlock and mobilize certain resources to respond, and that officials were looking for one specific suspect.

But why the lie?

There’s several reasons.

One reason is that many liberal-progressives actually believe in the preposterous “we can all be friends” approach to foreign policy. And they’re so desperate to prove it correct that they’re blind to reality. As a result, when things go wrong they can’t blame the other party involved because that would be admitting we really can’t all be friends. This would invalidate their outlook. So to perpetuate their childish world view, they claim it must be something we did. In this case, that terrible video insulted people beyond their ability to be rational, that’s why they hurt us. Take away the video and we can still be friends. We just can’t make videos — or openly critique Islam, or call radical terrorists — radical terrorists. It is a sick and self-destructive outlook. Of course, those that want to do us harm — not suffering from liberal-progressiveness — use it against us.

Another reason is it’s an election year. Regardless of what the polls say (we’ll get to that in a moment) Obama is in trouble. Domestically, the country is falling apart and on the brink of collapse. Whether you subscribe to the theory that Obama is intentionally running the country into the ground or not, the fact is perpetually high unemployment, expanded entitlements and a poor economy make up a disastrous re-election environment. Foreign policy was the only thing Obama had to hang his hat. The death of Osama bin Laden and (by media extension) Obama’s fight against terrorism and (by media extension) Obama’s foreign policy was something the Left could spin a narrative around as a reason for re-electing Obama. Romney has no experience while the world’s savior has kept us safe. A successful terror attack against an American consulate shows this narrative to be the tall-tale it is. So the less you know about the real details the better. And that brings us to the polls.

There has been a lot of polls released lately, yes? Indeed.

It is interesting to note that the ferocious onslaught of polls started just after the consulate attack hit the news. The idea is too keep voters reading polls rather than asking what happened in Libya. Virtually every one of these polls are utter rubbish. But, to the Left elite, that is fine, too. Better to have the peasants watching talking heads dispute the validity of this poll saying Obama by 9% or that one saying 47% to 46% than discussing why Americans are dead.

The lies about events in the Middle East and the recent saturation of polls published by the media are intentional distractions to avoid having to report that our liberal-progressive government can’t run the country nor can it keep ambassadors alive.
